Basic research is a fundamental research that must remain the cornerstone of the biotech edifice related to innovation, invention and product orientation.
One of the techniques that use in the basic research is real-time PCR technique. A real-time polymerase chain reaction is a laboratory technique of molecular biology based on the polymerase chain reaction (PCR). It monitors the amplification of a targeted DNA molecule during the PCR, i.e. in real-time, and not at its end, as in conventional PCR.

TaqMan® Assays comprise preoptimized PCR primer pairs and one or two probes (depending on product TaqMan Assay family) for allelic discrimination or quantitative real-time PCR (qPCR).
Each assay contains:
- An unlabeled PCR primer pair
- A TaqMan probe with FAM or VIC dye label on the 5’ end, and a minor groove binder (MGB) and nonfluorescent quencher (NFQ) on the 3’ end.
